    time to buck history

    The Dogwood District has had a state champ 6 of the last 7 years;
    no Dogwood team made the finals in 2006 or 2001.

    Dogwood teams are 6-0 in the finals.

    Region D is 0-3 with 0 points scored vs. the Dogwood.

    Raiders are 1-5 in the finals : only win was Jim Dotson's 1972 squad that beat Madison Co. 26-14

    Sure did, the lone title in 1972 was Coach Dotson's. He actually had two stints at Burton

    Re: time to buck history

    One of the best men you could ever meet or play for
    He does not get all the credit that is due
    Seems as if coaches dont have multiple state wins they are forgotten
    He went to schools thats programs had losing records and was able to turn them around
    If I remember correct his Norton team may have not won a game as freshmen but won state as seniors

    Yeah I always like coach Dotson. Just wasn't aware of how far he went back in this area. I think he heads up the local Habitat for humanity. Him and his wife both are good people.
